I am inspired to handle all of my incompletions and get with it. I also loved
your story about the dance instructor and entering the competition.
It reminds me that I need to play larger in all areas of my life.
I am looking for opportunities to get bigger!"

Excerpt from The Forgiving Universe
You would think that an author must tell his readers how successful he is in order to
earn the right to be read by them.
I will do no such thing.
I have failed many times.
I have failed so often, that it almost makes no sense to be proud of my failures.
I have had incessant situations of embarrassing screw-ups which inhabit and sting my memory almost on a daily basis; some very funny and some very downright sad.
At the age of 19, I went to a military prison for doing something that I did with a positive intent but that was very foolish nonetheless.
I have made money a few times only to see its untimely demise.I have trusted people only to see them take my money and my friendship for granted and leave me.
Even as I write this, I see how much of a failure I feel I am; I feel that I can’t even come up with a sufficiently profound list of failures impressive enough to get you to read more.
For many years, I had a failure of courage: I was molested when I was 9 years old.
I kept this a dark secret from my family. I also failed to confront my molester until my early 30’s, leaving me with many wasted years of youth; years that I could have used in the full pursuit of love, adventure and romance.
I failed miserably to attain some kind of academic prowess and even when I thought that I had some academic prowess, I saw that I was still a puny unfulfilled pseudo-intellectual.
On top of that I have been heartbroken by women many a time; and for all the times
that I thought I was successful in a relationship, I ended up being someone who was
despised and rejected anyway.
And yet, I can stand up in front of large groups of people and state these failures in a matter-of-fact manner that leaves people with the opportunity for freedom in their lives. Everyday even in the midst of feelings of sadness, worthlessness and
overall faithlessness in myself, I can still generate and cause results for others and myself that by most standards are more than decent.
What has allowed me to have this freedom and thus peace of mind and productivity?
I do not think that this is an easy answer to attempt in a matter of paragraphs –
it may take a lot more explanation. I have done my best to explain how to have this freedom with short stories, distinctions and hard concrete practices and tools that the reader can use and then implement fairly simply.
By the way, the intention of this book is not to have you feel sorry for me. I do that pretty well on my own and do not require any help from you. Nor is the intention to leave you feeling sorry for yourself or to wear your failures like a badge or medal.
This is a practical, but easy to read and follow road map to completion, freedom and peace of mind.
At the end of every chapter, I have included some inquiry questions for you that will
help you deepen your experience.
